Doodler's Anonymous
Doodler’s Anonymous
Doodler’s Anonymous is a program that promotes the students
individual creativity outside the classroom and allows them to display their
efforts anonymously. Students are encouraged to make a doodle, drawing, or sketch on a piece of 8 ½ x11” paper and
hand it in the Doodler’s Anonymous basket in Mrs. Wukovitz or Mr. Tolbert’s
Room. The drawings will be hung up
daily and rotated each month. Each
month, a winner will be selected from each grade level and the winner will
receive a prize and have their artwork featured on the CFA’s Art Websites.
The Artwork should:
• Have
your name and grade on the back!!!!
• On 8 ½ x
11” and Flat!!!!
• Be made
from any medium of your choice!
• Put in
the Doodler’s Anonymous collection basket in Mrs. Wukovitz or Mr. Tolbert’s
Room!

Digital Design-Paint.NET
Digital media is taking the art world by storm. Being literate in computer programs is a skill that gives students an edge in school and in future careers. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are the two most popular programs in the graphic design world. These are wonderful programs that can be used for simple photo editing to advanced digital designing; however, they carry a hefty price tag!Paint.NET is a free program similar to Adobe Photoshop. You can use drawing
tools, gradients, layers, and effects filters to make exciting original artwork.
Bring photos into Paint.NET to adjust the brightness and contrast of a picture
or manipulate the image into an abstract design. This program is great for
intermediate students and is suitable for adults. Below is the link for the free download.
Who am I?
Who am I? Well I won’t get all philosophical on you here….I
am an art teacher at CFA Middle School. For the past five years I have been
teaching art in the Corning-Painted Post School District at the elementary and
middle school level. Before coming to
Corning, I also taught in the Elmira City School District. I attended College at Nazareth College of
Rochester where I studied Art Education with a minor in Psychology. My Master’s Degree is in Inclusive Childhood
Education and I am certified in Childhood Education, Special Education, and Art
Education.
I love to make art.
All types of art. From ceramics
to digital design…I like to experiment and just make art for art’s sake. I believe in self-expression through the
visual arts…anyway…..
Warning: I am a self-proclaimed “tree hugger”. Hiking, running, skiing, snowshoeing , kayaking:
I love it! My husband and I have hiked parts of the Appalachian and the Long
Trail and I ran Cross Country and Track throughout high school and college. Last July, I had a son named Charles Peter
Wukovitz. He is well on his way to being a little artist!
What on earth am I doing?
An art blog? What?
I feel a blog is a good way to keep students and parents engaged and informed of what is going on in the world of art at CFA. This will be a space to share current projects, student work, and ideas. I will also include links to interactive webpages, artist pages, and art events that are going on in the area. My goal is that this will be a place where a young artist can go to find inspiration to spur his or her artistic endeavors.
