Back to Our Candy Still Lifes
This week we are returning to drawing candy still lifes. A plate of candy is on each table. Students start by drawing four sketches in their developmental workbook of examples of compositions using a viewfinder. Once they have narrowed down what their composition will look like, the will draw the still life and shade it using a full range of values.
I am very proud of the work the students have created so far. Here is an example of two sketches by Rachel in 4B. I will have many more pictures to come.

Mr. Tolbert and I are out today working on our curriculum development. We have laid out a matrix with the other middle school art teachers outlining the units and objectives for 7th and 8th grade art. There is so much to look forward to this year! The matrix will be available on the district website if you want to see what is up and coming.
