Marbling with Shaving Cream
To kick off our monoprinting unit, we experimented with shaving cream and paint to make pages with a marbleized effect. First, we covered a small tray with a layer of shaving cream about an inch think. Next we added drops of two or three colors of paint. We used a stick to swirl the colors then pressed the paper down on the surface gently patting it to get the top layer of paint to stick. We pulled the paper off and used a squeegee to remove the extra shaving cream revealing our beautiful marble designs. The shaving cream and paint can then be reused a few times to make variations of the monoprints. Here are some of our results!
