We took one class period and limited to just the items we
could find in our courtyard created natural sculptures based on Andy
Goldsworthy's work. The object of this was to force us to be creative using
limited resources, think abstractly, and work in collaborative groups. Here are
our results.

Andy Goldsworthy Photos
Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer, and
environmentalist producing site-specific sculpture and land art living and
working in Scotland. The materials used in Andy Goldsworthy's art is limited to
materials found in nature, such as brightly-colored flowers, icicles, leaves,
mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs, and thorns. Goldsworthy said about his
work, "I think it's incredibly brave to be working with flowers and leaves
and petals. I can't edit the materials I work with. My remit is to work with
nature as a whole."
