Autism Awareness

April is Autism Awareness Month, we are creating a variety of projects for the school in my adaptive art education classes. We created a banner using the puzzle pieces that is on display by the library.  The puzzle piece represents the diversity of autism and how science only understands pieces of ASD. While we see each piece, as a whole it is still a mystery. I combined the puzzle pieces with student artwork to further show how each individual with ASD is unique as are the students' artwork.

Ribbons have been made for the staff and students in the adaptive art education classes created t-shirts.We used contact paper cut into puzzle pieces and created shirts using soft fabric paint. The results were fantastic!
